According to techcrunch.com, Tesla’s automotive department is switching its production over from vehicles to ventilators. Through a link to Teslas youtube channel, viewers can watch the team work through their design process. Noticeably, many aspects of the design are completed using the Model 3 infotainment system.
The machine features a number of other Tesla parts, used in conjunction to build a regulated pneumatic pressure system. Operators are able to make adjustments to the pressure, volume and force of the pump using the same touchscreen tablet that can often be found in the center console of a Model 3. Manufacturers often overstock on parts in case of emergencies that might shut down production lines.
Alongside other Automakers such as Ford and GM, Tesla is reporting themselves committed to assisting with Covid-19. With the American production line falling in behind the government’s efforts, company leaders and local officials are hopeful that together they can make a difference in the midst of a crisis.
